It has been observed that many residents have been parking their vehicles on the streets, leaving them congested with little room for visitors to park. We wanted to send a friendly reminder that the Rules and Regulations state that the garages must be used to park 2 vehicles, and after the garage parking has been exhausted, residents are to use their driveways for parking. If all parking on the owner’s property has been utilized, then any excess vehicles may be parked on the street; however, they may not be stored and must be moved at least every 72 hours.
Vehicles may not be parked on the street on designated street sweeping days during service hours. The current schedule is the first and third Tuesday of the month from the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
Each owner is responsible for advising the owner’s family, tenants, and guests of the parking regulations. Vehicles that are parked in violation of the rules are subject to citation, violation fines, and towing at the vehicle owner’s expense. The Parking Rules are included in the Heron Pointe Community Handbook which can be viewed at any time on the Resident Portal at resident.actionlife.com.
We greatly appreciate your cooperation with the Association’s Parking Rules!

Simple Steps for an Extra Safe Halloween
Kids love the magic of Halloween, but costume and traffic safety are essential for trick-or-treaters. These tips can help make a safe and happy holiday for everyone.
Costume Safety
To help ensure adults and children have a safe holiday, fda.gov has compiled a list of Halloween safety tips. Before Halloween arrives, be sure to choose a costume that won’t cause safety hazards.
● All costumes, wigs and accessories should be fire-resistant
● If children are allowed out after dark, fasten reflective tape to their costumes and bags, or give them glow sticks
● Opt for nontoxic Halloween makeup over masks, which can obscure vision; always test makeup in a small area first to see if any irritation develops
● Remove all makeup before children go to bed to prevent skin and eye irritation
When They’re on the Prowl
Here’s a scary statistic: Children are more than twice as likely to be hit by a car and killed on Halloween than on any other day of the year. Lack of visibility because of low lighting at night also plays a factor in these incidents.
Keep these tips in mind when your children are out on Halloween night:
● A responsible adult should accompany young children on the neighborhood rounds
● If your older children are going alone, plan and review a route acceptable to you
● Agree on a specific time children should return home
● Teach your children never to enter a stranger’s home or car
● Instruct children to travel only in familiar, well-lit areas and stick with their friends
● Tell your children not to eat any treats until they return home, and take care to avoid any food allergies
Safety Tips for Motorists
NSC offers these additional safety tips for parents – and anyone who plans to be on the road during trick-or-treat hours:
● Watch for children walking on roadways, medians and curbs
● Enter and exit driveways and alleys carefully
● At twilight and later in the evening, watch for children in dark clothing
● Discourage new, inexperienced drivers from driving on Halloween

A Fuel Modification is a planned landscape design that reduces the threat of wildfire, by creating a fire-resistant divider between homes that are adjacent to areas of natural plant life. Bemis Landscape is currently completing the annual fuel modification to cut back overgrown brush along the perimeter of the community. You may notice workers along the edges of the community working to clear these areas. The most recent fires in the local mountains and canyons highlight the reasons the Association takes this annual fuel mod seriously and works in partnership with Bemis Landscape and the Orange County County Fire Authority to ensure its successful completion.

The annual Architectural Review Committee (ARC) Survey will be taking place on June 1, 2024. As a reminder, the ARC will be walking the neighborhood to ensure each homeowner is complying with the rules stated in the Association’s CC&Rs and Community Handbook. Based on the last survey from 2023, the areas of focus will include:
1) Identifying home repairs that need to be addressed.
2) Identifying homes that need paint refreshes.
3) Identifying homes that need to address landscape maintenance (lawns mowed / leaves removed / weeds removed / sidewalks clear).
4) Reviewing the common areas.
A copy of the Heron Pointe CC&Rs and Community Handbook with rules may be found on the homeowner online Resident Portal at https://resident.actionlife.com.
Thank you for your commitment to our beautiful community and as always, please contact the Community Manager or a member of the Board or ARC if there are any questions or concerns.

A few friendly reminders to begin the new year in 2024. Please turn off excess irrigation now that the rains are here. Some homes are still using their irrigation and overwatering. Also, any holiday lights or decorations should be taken down now that the holidays are over. Please always keep your pets on a leash inside the community. Finally, please remember to park in your garage or driveway and not in the street. Any vehicles parked on the street for an extended time will be cited.
